Traffic comparison of Rightmove Zoopla and OnTheMarket
Portal market share

OnTheMarket fourth biggest portal - 5% the size of Rightmove

An investment bank has done some analysis of the visitor numbers for OnTheMarket in January 2016. Remember, this was the year that OnTheMarket would become the 2nd biggest portal according to its founders. Unfortunately, it lags behind the goliaths that are Rightmove (which has 20x the visits) and Zoopla that has (10x the visits). Even little old PrimeLocation remains bigger than OnTheMarket. All in all, not great viewing for agents that use OTM. If you’re on OTM you can’t be on both Rightmove and Zoopla – ouch!

Canoe believe it

A newly renovated house in East Dulwich that is narrow than the average canoe is long has gone under offer for £800,000. Yes, that was an arbitrary measurement to choose but it made the headline easier to write. This two-bedroom home in East Dulwich has a large (but narrow) garden at the rear and looks about as shoehorned in as any home can look.

UK builds towards biggest housing review for a decade

The biggest housing review is being kicked off by Pete Redfern of house builder Taylor Wimpey with backing from shadow housing minister John Healey MP. The major areas of interest will be affordability for first time buyers, housing supply and planning and also programs such as the shared ownership scheme.

Monster Shoreditch development: 1 theatre and 412 apartments

The Stage in Shoreditch is the next big adventure for London high rises as the site of a former Shakespearean theatre sees a brand new 412 apartments and the re-imagining of the old theatre, once thought lost forever.

Only rediscovered in 2012, the Curtain theatre will be at the centre/underneath the new development with a glass walkway allowing curious people to look in at the excavated theatre where 200 seats will allow for new performances.

Construction begins in April 2016 and ends in 2019.
