Clarence Place, DA12
This impressive circa 1830's family home is a prime example of a bygone era which still retains many of its original features (high ceilings, stunning working fireplaces, and beautiful floor to ceiling sash windows flooding the rooms with natural light.)
This wonderful family home is huge inside and even the largest of families will not be found wanting more space! The entire house has been decorated throughout and the gardens also recently landscaped, so it is a perfect home that is ready to be enjoyed.
As expected, all bedrooms are large doubles and the living areas, which are all well-proportioned, are set over five floors, offering versatile living accommodation.
The walled, lawned garden is just as impressive in size. Secluded by trees and a variety of mature shrubs, with ample space for entertaining, the garden is perfectly set up for the whole family to enjoy. With a shed and large summer house, opening up to a sun trap patio, the peace and serenity make it hard to believe you are only a stone’s throw away from the Gravesend town centre.
There is also a hidden, newly astro turfed courtyard to the front, off the family room, which is lovely in the summer months with the French doors wide open, and a perfect safe space for young children to play.
For those of you unfamiliar with the area, Windmill Hill is a conservation area that is surrounded by beautiful period homes and small streets, full of character, making you feel as if you have stepped back in time. The house overlooks Windmill Hill itself which offers fantastic green space, tennis courts and far reaching views. It is hard to believe that Gravesend town centre and the river front is on your doorstep, with its railway now benefitting from the high-speed service whisking you into London in just twenty minutes.

From the horse's mouth
We originally fell in love with the elegance of the period features and sheer size of the rooms which still continue to ‘wow’ our guests. The real surprise though is just how quiet and tranquil it feels, given that Gravesend town centre, and all of its conveniences are less than an 8 minute walk away. With a dog and young baby, the proximity of the parkland of Windmill Hill has been an absolute bonus that we have enjoyed use of every day.
